Association of Lodging Professionals

Scholarships

The Association of Lodging Professionals (ALP) is the national association of small independent lodging.  Our members are independent lodging properties, bed & breakfasts/inns, unique lodging properties, hospitality professionals, aspiring hospitality professionals and allied partners that support our industry with their products and services.

We are a member-driven, a non-profit organization that focuses on professional development and advocacy for our industry.

ALP has formed the Association of Lodging Professionals FUND (ALPF), which is a 501 c (3) IRS designation, for the purpose of managing the scholarship funds.  Your contribution is tax-deductible as a charitable donation, and you can make a contribution at any time.  If you would like to use a credit card for your donation, please contact Kris Ullmer at kris@alplodging.org or 715-921 2327. Donations by check may be mailed to:  ALPF, 108 S Cleveland St., Merrill WI  54452-2435.

The Association of Lodging Professionals Fund is pleased to support lodging professionals and aspiring lodging professionals through three industry scholarship funds.   Each scholarship fund is in honor of individuals that have given so much to our industry.

The D. Scott Bushnell Memorial Fund and the Michael D Hanscom Memorial Funds were established in 2018.

D. SCOTT BUSHNELL MEMORIAL FUND

*These scholarships support Aspiring lodging owners by providing registration to ALP’s annual conference.

MICHAEL D HANSCOM MEMORIAL FUND

*These scholarships support property owners by providing a registration to ALP’s annual conference.

On February 25th, 2020, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at our annual Conference and Marketplace, we were pleased to establish our third scholarship fund the - MARY WHITE EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

*This fund will allow qualified aspiring lodging owners to join ALP with their membership fee paid for their introductory year.

Mary’s dedication to Innkeeper education began many years ago with her bnbfinder client newsletters and she was recognized globally as the author of the Innkeeping for Dummies book. It was Mary’s desire to continue to promote and sustain that mission by providing aspiring and new innkeepers access to the educational tools they need to be successful in our industry.

This fund will equip aspiring lodging property owners, for one year at no charge, with the ability to participate in all that ALP (Association of Lodging Professional) provides, with full access to the member publications, webinars and conference member pricing. The Mary White Educational Scholarship Fund will be a legacy of educational support for future generations of professional lodging owners.
