ALP Committees and Taskforces

ALLIED PARTNER ADVISORY BOARD

This committee suggests businesses for membership and represents the interests of Allied Partners within ALP.  The advisory board will develop strategies, partnerships, and ways to increase a strong business-to-business community, for the benefit of all members.  

An Allied Partner is an ALP Member that provides goods and services to the lodging industry with the option to provide discounts or revenue share. As a dues-paying member, an Allied Partner has access to the benefits & services offered at that level.

ANNUAL SUPPORTER TASKFORCE  (sub-committee of Allied Partner Committee) 

The purpose of this task force is to assist the ALP staff in identifying potential new Annual Supporters at the various levels.  The taskforce will work alongside ALP staff on current Annual Supporter deliverables, identifying new ways to improve business-to-business relations, and offer unique deliverables for our Allied Partner Annual Supporter Programs for the benefit of all members.               

ASSOCIATION LEADERS ADVISORY BOARD

This Committee represents the interests of Association Leaders of lodging groups, whether local, state, or regional based.  The Committee will work to create and foster critical relationships for the benefit of our industry.

B&Bs FOR VETS AD HOCCOMMITTEE

This program is to honor and thank veterans for their service through B&B stays generously offered by B&Bs and Inns throughout North America and the UK.  Committee is responsible for outreach, messaging, connecting with previous participants, managing database, composing and distributing press releases. 

CONFERENCE COMMITTEE 

To assist staff in creating the industry’s most innovative educational opportunities at ALP’s annual conference and marketplace.  To create a body of workshops that stimulate, excite and improve a property’s performance.  To assure that educational topics are diverse, relevant and current.

AWARDS Sub-COMMITTEE 

The Committee is charged with defining and identifying the award categories, and recommending members that meet the award criteria by making significant contributions to our industry.  The Committee is responsible for presenting the award(s) and acknowledging the recipient at our annual Conference. 

FINANCE COMMITTEE

The Committee is chaired by the Treasurer. It is responsible for reviewing fiscal policy and procedures, reviewing annual budget prior to approval by the Board of Directors, monitoring the financial condition of the Organization, and reporting its findings to the Board of Directors.  The Finance Committee Chair will appoint the other members to the Committee.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

The Committee is tasked with identifying volunteer leaders in the industry to fill key volunteer roles as well as call for board nominations. The Committee is responsible for reviewing the qualifications of candidates and presenting recommendation(s) to the ALP Board.

ADVOCACY COMMITTEE 

The Committee will provide input to the CEO and the Board in setting policy and developing white papers for members and our partner state and local associations to use.  The committee will develop strategies and partnerships related to our advocacy efforts that will benefit all members and promote ALP's commitment to legislative and advocacy leadership for the lodging industry. The Committee will evaluate whether task forces are needed to complete specific activities or programs of work.  

AUDIT COMMITTEE

The Committee is accountable for the audit function; it will determine the scope of the audit activity and select an auditor using an objective process within the established budget. Upon receipt and acceptance of the report from the auditor, the Audit Committee will present the report to the Board of Directors. 

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

This Committee, working with ALP staff, will be charged with developing strategies for the retention and recruitment of members across all membership categories.  Additionally, the committee will identify new parallel businesses or partners that fall within the lodging industry and would be critical partners for ALP.
